Case Study: step by step to single-leg knee raise

Movement 1 : Hip flexion

Cues:

  • push hands onto the front of the thighs

  • keep a neutral spine, imagine a straight line from the tailbone to the head

  • count 3 seconds moving from one point to another point

Movement 2: knee flexion/extension in hip flexion position

Cues:

  • bend the knees, thinking of sitting on a chair

  • keep the spine straight

  • push the knees straight, sending the hip backward

Movement 3: single leg knees raise

Cues:

  • thigh length from the wall

  • standing leg keep straight, thinking heel-knee-hip-shoulder-head in a straight line

  • raise the thigh till parallel to the ground, imagine holding a cup of water

  • use a book on top of the head to cue the joint alignment

Movement 4: alternating standing knee raise
